Gameloom for Unity scores your game concept or GDD against real market data, inside the Unity Editor. It compares your idea to games that actually shipped, and reports comparables (with outcomes and stats), genre and platform economics, player sentiment, and failure-mode risks.
It scores your design text, not your scene or code. Nothing from this package ships in your player builds.
Requirements
- Unity 2022.3 or newer (tested on 2022.3 LTS and Unity 6).
- Dependency: com.unity.nuget.newtonsoft-json (MIT), installed automatically by the Package Manager. Nothing to configure.
- An internet connection. The plugin is a thin client for Gameloom's hosted service and does nothing useful offline.
- No account, no sign-in, and no AI credits or API key needed from you.
Install
- Add the package from the Asset Store (or via Package Manager). Unity installs the Newtonsoft dependency automatically.
- Open it from the menu: Window > Gameloom.
Use
- Open Window > Gameloom.
- Paste your concept or GDD into the text box, or click Upload GDD (.txt/.md). You can add several files and pick one from the dropdown.
- Choose the platform you plan to ship on. This strongly affects which games you are compared against, so set it to your real target. If your text names a platform, Gameloom reads it and preselects it.
- Click Analyze with Gameloom (about 30–60s; longer for a large GDD).
- Read the result across two tabs:
- Analysis: the market-fit verdict, your extracted brief, where to price it, player sentiment, failure-mode risks, and suggestions.
- Comparables: each comparable game with similarity, outcome, why it is comparable, and stats.
- Copy Report or Download Report to export the analysis as Markdown. The last analysis is saved locally and restored when you reopen the window.
Limits
- Submitted text is truncated to the first 40,000 characters.
- The free anonymous tier is rate-limited (about five analyses per minute per network). If you hit the limit, wait about a minute and try again.
- The verdict is an honest market comparison, not a pass/fail score or a guarantee of any commercial outcome.
What is sent (privacy)
Only the concept or GDD text you submit and the platform you select are sent to Gameloom's hosted service. No Unity project data (scenes, scripts, prefabs, assets) is read or transmitted. No analytics, advertising or tracking is included. Submitted text is not used to train AI models. Full details are in the package's PRIVACY.md and at gameloom.ai/privacy.
Troubleshooting
- "Couldn't reach Gameloom" / cannot resolve host: check your internet connection, VPN, or firewall/proxy. The plugin connects to mcp.gameloom.ai over HTTPS.
- Timeout on a very large GDD: big documents take longer to analyze; give it up to about two minutes.
- Rate-limited: wait about a minute between bursts of analyses.
- You can override the endpoint under the Endpoint foldout for testing, but the default is the one to use.
